Please read the following instructions carefully before submitting your paper.
Only electronic submission of manuscripts in .doc or .docx format will be accepted. Kindly ensure that the text, tables, and figures are included in a single Microsoft Word file conforming to the guidelines given in the template. The file name should necessarily be the same as the author’s name (e.g.: johnsmith.doc/johnsmith.docx).
For your convenience, all type sizes have already been created in the template. You may erase the matter we have written, type yours in the brackets provided, and then remove the brackets as well. This will allow your paper to have the same formatting as required by us.
Papers should be submitted as an e-mail attachment to the Editorial Office at firstname.lastname@example.org. Authors will instantly receive an automated reply to the same and receive correspondence from our office within a week. Receipt of the automated reply can be considered confirmation of our team having received your paper.
Please include a Cover Letter in the main body of the email addressed to email@example.com. This should include the corresponding author’s full name, address, email ID and telephone/fax numbers.
All manuscripts are reviewed by an editor and members of the Editorial Board or other qualified reviewers. Decisions about acceptance will be communicated as quickly as possible. The editorial board will re-review manuscripts that are accepted pending revision.
Proofs and Reprints
In case of substantial changes, electronic proofs will be sent to the corresponding author as a PDF file. Page proofs are considered to be the final version of the manuscript. With the exception of typographical or minor clerical errors, no changes will be made in the manuscript at the proof stage. Because The Journal for ESL Teachers and Learners will be published freely online to attract a wide audience, authors will have free electronic access to the full text of the article. Authors can freely download the PDF file from which they can print unlimited copies of their articles.
Submission of a manuscript implies that the work has not been published before, that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that if and when the manuscript is accepted for publication, the authors agree to automatic transfer of the copyright to the publisher.
Fees and Charges
In the interests of the research community at large, The Journal for ESL Teachers and Learners does not charge for handling or publication of articles where the authors have already paid registration fees for Confluence. However, for authors seeking only publication without having attended Confluence, a fee of $100 will be applicable.
The Title should be a brief phrase (not more than 10 words) describing the contents of the paper. Please note that wording of the title of your paper cannot be identical to that of the topics suggested for Confluence V. The Title Page should include the authors’ full names, designation and names of their institute.
The Abstract should be completely self-explanatory, briefly present the topic, state the scope of the experiments, indicate significant data, and point out major findings and conclusions. The Abstract should not exceed 200 words in length. Standard nomenclature should be used and abbreviations should be avoided. No literature should be cited.
Not more than 10 keywords may be mentioned after the abstract.
Papers should be typed on A4 size paper, formatted with single columns and should be single-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font. Please do not change the margins as they have been set in the template (Top-2 cm, Right-2 cm, Bottom-2 cm, Left-2 cm). Do not add page numbers to your paper. These will be added later according to the requirements of our journal.
Tables should be kept to a minimum and be designed as simply as possible. Tables should be self-explanatory without reference to the text. The same data should not be presented in both table and graph form or repeated in the text.
Graphics should be prepared using applications capable of generating high resolution GIF, TIFF, JPEG or Powerpoint before pasting in the Microsoft Word manuscript file. Tables should be prepared in Microsoft Word. Information given in legends should not be repeated in the text.
References should be listed at the end of the paper in alphabetical order. Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy of the references. References should be in the APA style.
