Guidelines for Authors

Please read the following instructions carefully before submitting your paper.

Only electronic submission of manuscripts in .doc or .docx format will be accepted.  Kindly ensure that the text, tables, and figures are included in a single Microsoft Word file conforming to the guidelines given in the template. The file name should necessarily be the same as the author’s name (e.g.: johnsmith.doc/johnsmith.docx).

For your convenience, all type sizes have already been created in the template. You may erase the matter we have written, type yours in the brackets provided, and then remove the brackets as well.  This will allow your paper to have the same formatting as required by us.

Papers should be submitted as an e-mail attachment to the Editorial Office at Authors will instantly receive an automated reply to the same and receive correspondence from our office within a week. Receipt of the automated reply can be considered confirmation of our team having received your paper.

Please include a Cover Letter in the main body of the email addressed to  This should include the corresponding author’s full name, address,  email ID and telephone/fax numbers.

Review Process

All manuscripts are reviewed by an editor and members of the Editorial Board or other qualified reviewers. Decisions about acceptance will be communicated as quickly as possible. The editorial board will re-review manuscripts that are accepted pending revision.

Proofs and Reprints

In case of substantial changes, electronic proofs will be sent to the corresponding author as a PDF file.  Page proofs are considered to be the final version of the manuscript. With the exception of typographical or minor clerical errors, no changes will be made in the manuscript at the proof stage.  Because The Journal for ESL Teachers and Learners will be published freely online to attract a wide audience, authors will have free electronic access to the full text of the article. Authors can freely download the PDF file from which they can print unlimited copies of their articles.

Submission of a manuscript implies that the work has not been published before, that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that if and when the manuscript is accepted for publication, the authors agree to automatic transfer of the copyright to the publisher.
