Getting to Nagpur City
The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Airport at Nagpur is an international airport, but flights are limited. It is easiest for people from the Gulf as there are direct flights to Sharjah from Nagpur. However, domestically, the Nagpur Airport is very well connected with multiple flights to and from major Indian cities with international airports. There are direct flights from Mumbai (1 hour), New Delhi (1 ½ hrs.), Kolkata (1 ½ hrs.), Hyderabad (1hr.) and most other major cities in India.
Trains are also a good option, as Nagpur is a major junction and is well connected to most cities of India. Should you wish to travel within India before or after Confluence, travel by train is the best option for destinations to which there are no flights presently available.
Nagpur is very well connected by road – 3 National Highways converge at this central city. It can be accessed via National Highway (NH) 6 from Mumbai via Nasik and NH 7 via Hyderabad. Please note that though the drive in February will be a pleasant one, the traffic on most Indian highways allows for an average journey speed of not over 60 km/hour. Should you decide to take a road trip from any major city in India, plan your trip to cover a maximum of 500 km per day.
